We’re thrilled to announce that *VCP & Friends* is launching next week! For the first time, we’ll be showcasing a unique collection that spans the years of the *Vintage Car Porn* project—featuring images not only from my own work but also from the talented friends who’ve been part of the journey. Expect an eclectic mix of pieces that truly capture the spirit of this evolving series.
Please join us on **November 21st** at **Young Hearts, 216 High St, Windsor**. The evening will be set to the sounds of live jazz, with food and drinks to enjoy as we celebrate and catch up.
THE BOOK HAS LANDED ORDER YOUR COPY NOW! LIMITED NUMBERS AVAILABLE.
In mid 2023, I reached out to a friend who helped me create a cover for the VCP book. He came back with this edgy logo on the cover that blew me away and essentially drove me to curate Edition One of Vintage Car Porn!
With months of back and forth between the printers, I started to doubt whether the self-publishing route was the way to go. After a couple of sample runs and reassurances that the end result would be what I pictured it to be, I was pumped to finally have an end date in sight! On top of that, I decided to lock in a date for the book launch. It wasn't the first time I had set a date, but this time it had to happen!
On July 5th, the book launch kicked off. What the patrons hadn’t known was that I only received the books a week prior. The long and arduous process was starting to pay off. Not only was it a book launch, but I also decided to print and frame 22 images which, in the setting of Revolver Lane, was absolutely stunning.
I'm glad to hear that people love the book, and I'm already curating Edition Two! Stay tuned.
After a year in the making and 10 years of photographing Vintage Cars, the Vintage Car Porn Exhibition finally went ahead on the 22.1.21 at Bside Gallery in Fitzroy.
With much blood, sweat and tears going into the project the final result was finally a feat Filip Konikowski could be proud of, his first solo in over 10 years in Melbourne was here. With 87 Images framed in a variety of frames collected over the years the people came and saw what all the fuss was about! With an exceptional turn out and many works making it to the walls of the patrons who got there early, this will definitely be one of many more exhibitions for all car and art lovers.
Each Image and frame is an Edition of 1/1, however if your interested in a sold image they are also available as an open edition in various sizes, please use the form below to express your interest.
Thank you!
‘...As I travel the streets of Melbourne and beyond, I find myself capturing the beauty within vintage cars...’
It all began when I lost my license and my main mode of transport was by foot. During this period I often found my eye being drawn to the classic design aesthetic of cars. Specifically vintage cars. I believe they are progressive and beautiful. Marry these machines with the ever changing back drop of Melbourne and you have a documentation that is relevant to the changing landscape of our city.
I have accumulated over four and half thousand photos and will exhibiting 100 of these photographs in unique frames collected over the years.
This is to be launched at the Bside Gallery in Fitzroy on the 22nd of January and will be on exhibition for the weekend.
